12 Weeks

If you’re a huge fan of acres of powder, beautiful scenery and more runs than you can shake a ski pole at, then you’ve already heard of Colorado’s Copper Mountain.

And if you are stoked to turn your passion into a profession then our 12 week Ski Instructor course is right up your street. It’s the perfect way to spend a season fine tuning your personal skills, learning to coach and,of course, enjoying hours on the slopes with a heap of like minded people.

Famous for it’s deep, dry powder (with a hefty average of 710cm per year), sitting at 2926m and covering over 2450 acres of pristine mountain runs. Copper is the perfect place to gain an internationally recognised qualification and get started on turning the mountains into your office.

“12 weeks of snow, fun and generally living the dream!”
Leah, UK

Our 12 week course which starts in Jan each year will take you through your paces on the slopes and includes everything needed to get you going on your new career path, including internationally recognised qualifications (PSIA-RM Level 1 and 2), video analysis and even VIP lift lane priority to maximise your time on the snow.

Taught by highly experienced instructors, they aren’t just instructors themselves. They are, in fact, the trainers and examiners for the PSIA-RM, so the guys putting you through your paces are the same ones who set the standards for the PSIA exams.

This experience is unique in the fact that it also offers you the chance to shadow an instructor in a live teaching environment. This gives you a better understanding of your job role, the challenges you’ll face and, of course, the fun you’ll have!

Once you have passed, they also offer some great employment tricks and tips. Their vast connections will hopefully help you land your dream job as soon as possible.

With a world class indoor freestyle facility next door and the option to upgrade to a Vail resort pass (giving you access to Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Beaver Creek and Arapahoe Basin), you’ll have all the tools to really round out your skills and make the most of your course. We’ve also included a Snow-Cat trip so you and your fellow ski buddies can enjoy some empty back country fun.

Not only that but you’ll be living in a great ski town – Frisco

The town is packed with great places to eat out and a good dose of nightlife too. The fact that it’s slap in the middle of Summit Country means that you are within a short distance of other world class resorts such as Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland and Breckenridge, all easily accessible by the local buses.

Located on the shores of Lake Dillon, it’s postcard perfect and you’ll be living alongside your other trainees in a fully furnished shared apartment.

Put simply, you will eat, sleep and live snow for 12 weeks. Emerging not only as a more confident and competent skier but with the tickets needed to go out and live the dream coaching others.
