If powder is your passion and you’re looking to gain your ski instructor qualification in Europe then Val d’Isère provides an epic location to begin your journey in the ski industry.
In fact, Val d’Isère is one of the top three resorts in the world — so you know you’re heading for some seriously good skiing conditions!
Despite spending 10 weeks in the mountains, we doubt you’ll be able to tackle every ski run Val d’Isère has to offer — combined with Tignes to create Espace Killy, there’re over 350km of powder to enjoy.
Throughout the course you’ll be in very capable hands with coaching from some of the top BASI ISTD Level 4 instructors and trainers. They’ll ensure that your skills in the snow quickly improve and you’ll soon be confidently tackling some serious skiing!
The aim of your Ski Instructor Course is to set you up for a career in the ski industry, so with that in mind you’ll be aiming to pass 3 internationally recognised ski qualifications to get your CV off to an amazing start — including BASI Level 1 and 2.
When it comes to the mountains, Val d’Isère is split across 3 areas: Bellevarde (which also accesses Tignes), Solaise and Le Fornet (which has access to the glaciers).
Throughout your course you’ll tackle a good cross-section of all three areas, so whether you’re enjoying the off-piste sections of the Solaise area, the snow parks, tree runs or half pipes of Le Fornet, or the challenging runs of Bellevarde, you’ll have a blast!
Your experienced and highly trained instructors know them all like the backs of their hands, so you’ll be enjoying the best powder, runs and conditions every day!
“My season in Val couldn’t have been better! It’s exactly what I asked for and more. The whole experience ran smoothly, so there was absolutely nothing to worry about. I am now looking to work in Japan for the next season.”
The town itself is small but packed with heaps of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment, so when you’re not busy on the piste, you’ll still be busy having an epic time.
It’s a close-knit community and over your season here you’ll make some amazing new friends and really get involved in the snow-loving vibe of the town. There’s always a lot going on here — whether it’s the spectacular New Year’s Eve celebrations or one of the many ski and snowboard competitions (including the X-Games) that are held there, Val d’Isère will keep you stoked for your entire stay!
You’ll be staying in a 4 person apartment just a short walk from all the action, furnished and equipped with everything you’ll need to cook, sleep and relax during your time in the mountains.
And of course the central location means you’ll have plenty of time for socialising, which is ideal given the vast range of nightlife that Val d’Isère has to offer! You’re free to enjoy as you please and your resort manager will put together some organised events during the season to get you started.
When it comes to food, you’ll have breakfast literally delivered to your door Monday to Friday, with dinner vouchers for the evenings that you can use across a selection of 5 restaurants in town, so you can take your pick.
So if you’re looking to spend a season in one of the top ski and snowboard resorts in Europe (and the world!) and get stuck into a new career path that turns the mountains into your office, then this epic Snowboard Instructor Training Experience in Val d’Isère will tick all the boxes — snow, smiles and heaps of good times!

Qualifies you to teach novice and early intermediates in a non-mountain environment, i.e. in the UK on artificial and indoor slopes. For many this is all you will need in terms of a qualification that you will use for work. For others it’s just one of the required stepping stones en-route to Level 2 and beyond.
BASI Level 2
For instructors who wish to work in the mountains on a part-time or peak seasonal basis. BASI Level 2 skiers have the competent knowledge, understanding and ability that is necessary to safely teach alpine skiing up to and including parallel standard on marked pistes.
As with all BASI qualifications, a first aid qualification is required for the award to be officially recognised and signed off by BASI. First Aid training leading to a recognised qualification is included in your package.
